“Traveling – it leaves you speechless, then turns you into a storyteller.”

-Ibn Battuta

People call me Al, short name for Alonzo. I’ve started my overseas career in Saudi Arabia with a general contracting company and it was my first job after graduation. Hence, it was also my first time to work with people of different nationalities and got amazed on their broad culture, food varieties, languages, religions and ways of living.

While I was there, I lived in a town situated in the desert area of the kingdom which was far away from Riyadh, the capital city. Most of the terrain consists of arid desert, lowlands and mountains. They have desert climate with extreme temperatures during summer and winter which is way too far from the tropical climate I’ve been used to. In general, living is quite simple and traditional. This experience and influences pushed me to learn the art of traveling.

However, it took me so long to decide and finally come up with this travel blog since I am a workaholic person. In contrary, I am delighted to share my travel experiences not only for the sake of leisure (stress relief) but also to invite people in this wonderful discovery and serve as an eye opener to accept diversity in all aspects.

The contents of this blog mainly feature some interesting facts about places and tourist attractions, inputs on architecture and history, tasting of local cuisines, learning basic words and phrases on native languages and lastly, by giving insights on culture and its people.

This blog aims to reach out travel bloomers, globe-trotters, travel bloggers, travel tours and individuals who can share their personal realizations to the travel community.
